Activator Technique

Dr. Pam is certified in the Activator Technique which is a diagnostic and treatment system.  It is one of the most popular “low force” chiropractic techniques in the world.  Next to the Diversified Technique, the activator adjusting instrument is reported to be the most common therapeutic intervention used by chiropractors.

The activator instrument is a hand held spring-loaded tool that delivers a consistent low-force, high-speed thrust to the spine or affected joint with the goal of restoring motion.

Some individuals are not comfortable with the traditional hands-on techniques or they may be in an acute state and cannot handle the manual adjustment.  The activator offers a very effective and gentle alternative.  Because it’s many times faster than adjustments delivered by hand, the body rarely tightens to resist, making adjustments comfortable and effective.  The applied force is localized and does not add any additional torque or bending movement to the joint which patients also find quite comfortable.
